miniSlideshow.lzx widget pointing to different photo data
The miniSlideshow.lzx widgets on the right side blog gutter are two instances of the same Laszlo app. The first slideshow widget is pointed at an image data source from MissingKids.org, as of 5:15p PST Friday Nov 14, 2003. The second slideshow widget is pointed to a directory of personal travel photos.
The current MissingKids result is rough, with photos distorted through inappropriate scaling, and important text information not formatted to display completely. However, this demonstration confirms the simplicity of displaying different data by simply pointing the app at different XML files over the Web. Unlike the Java-based implementation, the Laszlo widgets target the Flash run-time (version 5 or higher), and thus can play in over 98% of today's deployed Web browsers across all OS platforms.

Selling books via Amazon
Just for kicks, adding an Amazon affiliate buy link in the blog gutter on the right. Amazon offers 15% commission on sales referrals for books (I think...). Hmmm...probably should edit out some of the HTML, so that it's more of a book list entry than an ad banner.
